Omez D is a Capsule manufactured by Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd. It is commonly used for the treatment of Abdominal pain, Food pipe healing, Gastrointestinal reflux disease, heartburn, and Bitter fluid in the stomach.

When should we take Omez D?

  • Abdominal Pain

How to take Omez D?

  • Always take Omez D exactly as directed by your doctor.
  • Take the medicine 15 to 30 minutes before meals, preferably in the morning.
  • This medicine must be swallowed with a glass of water. 
  • Do not chew, or crush the tablet. 

Common Dosage for Omez D

  • The common dosage is One capsule a day in the morning, 15-30 minutes before breakfast.
  • A patient can take two capsules a day also (in the morning and evening before meals), depending on the condition of the patient.
  • Omez D should not be used for more than 14 days unless directed by the doctor.

Note: The Dosage is different for every individual as per the age, weight, mental status, and allergic history of the patient.

Side Effects of Omez D

Like all other medicine Omez D can cause several side effects, although not everybody gets them.

  • Breast Pain
  • Irritation
  • Dry Mouth
  • Hip Fracture
  • Headache
  • Uncontrolled movements

Composition of Omez D

Each tablet of Omez D contains Domperidone and Omeprazole.

When Should you consult a Doctor before taking Omez D?

  • If you are allergic to domperidone.
  • If you have blood in your bowel motions.
  • If you have a blockage or tear in your intestines.
  • If you have a tumor of the pituitary gland.
  • If you have kidney disease.
  • If you have HIV/AIDS.

What happens if I take more or fewer Medicines?

  • If you have taken more medicines, please contact your doctor.
  • If you miss a dose, take your medicine as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, wait until that is due and continue as usual. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
  • Before stopping using this medicine please contact your doctor.

Should I take Omez D during Pregnancy?

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding or think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine. Although there are limited studies on humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. 

Is Omez D recommended for children?

This medicine is not recommended for children of age less than 18 years.

Should I take this medicine during driving?

You may feel sleepy and will have less control over your movements while taking this medicine. This medicine may cause dizziness and visual disturbances. If this happens, do not drive or use any tools or machines.

Should I take this medicine while consuming alcohol?

Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Omez D Capsule. Please consult your doctor.

Should I take this medicine if I have a Kidney problem?

Dose adjustment may be needed. Consult your doctor before taking Omez D Capsule.
